When can You Get Into a Relationship?

Most people consider that falling in love, getting into a relationship, forming an emotional bond are things beyond our control and we cannot really exercise our choice if we must get into a relationship or not. Though it is true that you do not plan to fall in love and be in a relationship, there is a certain level of readiness required before you decide that this is the time for the relationship.
A kind of parameter or benchmark will help you assess yourself and decide if the time is right. For example, some of you may consciously decide that you will not enter a romantic relationship before the schooling is complete; some may decide that career is the priority and love can wait, or college days are the best days to find love and get into a relationship etc.
Relationships are easy to be formed or initiated. The challenge lies in continuing it and keeping it going. Therefore it needs you to invest your time, effort, mental energy and physical presence. An imbalance in these things for a persistently long time can deteriorate the relationship.
Prioritize your roles and responsibilities. If you are very ambitious, have great professional plans and aspirations, think twice if you must enter a relationship when you actually want to focus all your energy and mind to the profession. Do not expect the partner to be ever understanding and compromising. Sustaining a relationship is a mutual responsibility.
Wait if you have to. Do not hasten to be in a relationship because you feel insecure of your single status or because of peer pressure and romance in the air. Do not let the hype and glamour attached to romance distort your real feeling and attitude. If you do not feel this is the time, then wait for the right moment. Listen to the inner voice or follow the gut feeling if you are not able to decide with your mental reasoning.
