Tips for Blind Dating
Many-a-times, it so happens that you just get to talk to the person once or twice over the phone and you decide to meet. Also, it can happen that your friend is going on a date, and his or her date is bringing along a friend who is nice looking, smart, intelligent and all that and you get to team you with him/her. The basic elements of dating still exist, but you do need to exercise more caution in a blind date.
The first thing a date, whether blind or seen, notices about you is your dress sense. In meeting someone for the first time you will want to ensure that you make a good first impression. However, if you are a girl, you need to make sure that you are not dressed up in a revealing outfit. It might give out wrong impressions.
You need to be very careful about the fact that where are you actually going to meet your blind date. Even if you are being set up by a close friend you can’t be positive that they know the person they are setting you up with very well. It’s best to set up an initial meeting in a well-lit and public location. You should never meet anyone in a secluded place for the first time. This ensures you own safety.
Make an honest effort to have a good time with your date. If you go into a blind date thinking that things won’t work out, it is mostly likely that things really won’t work out. Be yourself on your date but don’t give away too much information for the safety factor as well as for the enigma factor.
It is also advisable to bring a friend along if you are going for a blind date. No doubt the friend can act as a chaperone but also you can be sure if your date does not show up you are not stranded alone.
Most importantly, treat your blind date with the same courtesy that you would any other date. You may not be able to trust him or her completely but this should not stop you from being polite and honest with them.
