In fact, in many places it has even replaced the classic Swedish Massage in terms of popularity. The increased popularity is partly the result of its ability to reduce tension that widely inflicts today’s city based denizens.

The Deep Tissue Massage is both a corrective and therapeutic massage technique that focuses on the deepest layers of muscle tissue. Benefits Of Deep Tissue Massage

When our muscles are stressed, they block oxygen and nutrients, causing inflammation that builds up toxins in the muscle tissue. This massage technique helps loosen muscle tissue, release toxins from them, thereby allowing blood and oxygen to circulate properly. You must drink plenty of water after a deep tissue massage session to eliminate the many toxins released from the body.

It helps to break-up and eliminate scar tissue. The aim is to release the fibres of a muscle while releasing deeply-held patterns of tension and simultaneously relaxing and soothing the muscle.

The massage consists of slower, stronger strokes that are especially beneficial for athletes who expose their muscles to daily, intensive conditioning.
Its therapeutic benefits are particularly helpful for those suffering from chronic pain, fibromyalgia, oedema, muscle cramping and even carpal tunnel syndrome.

The deep finger pressure on different muscle groups stimulates circulation in the areas of pain.

Is Deep Tissue Massage For Everyone?

The massage can lead to mild to moderate discomfort when the tight muscles are worked at. You may even feel sore for a day or two after the massage. However, if you are comfortable with a stronger, more focussed massage and don’t mind the soreness that accompanies it then this massage may be for you.
