The hot sweltering summer is here and that means we all need to take extra care of our skin and hair. A lot of people spend a considerable amount of time in the swimming pool to cool off the heat, but this can have an adverse effect on the hair and skin. The harsh rays of the sun and the chlorine in the swimming pool water can damage the hair by making it dry and brittle, and as for the skin, these cause skin darkening and might lead to various skin diseases.
As it is, even if we apply makeup, the heat will anyways melt away, leaving behind nothing more than your bare skin – which needs to be in good condition to be attractive. Heavy makeup, especially during the day, should be avoided completely. Also, we need to keep in mind that cleaning of the makeup – however little we apply – is very important. Any residual makeup can block the pores on your skin, and lead to a bout of acne.
Well if you do use makeup be sure to use softer shades in summers. This looks almost natural and does not stick out like a sore thumb. The lighter the shade, the better it is. So go in for pinks, mauves and the bare look. You should completely try to avoid reds, brown and any other dark shade, especially during the day. Make sure to use waterproof makeup whenever you venture out of home. This prevents the melting and makes your makeup stay put.
Last but not the least; eat a lot of fruits and drink lots and lots of water and fresh fruit juice. Water detoxifies your system and hydrates your skin and fruits give you all the essential minerals and calcium needed by the skin during these months.
