Skin Care During Summer

Skin care during summer can be difficult as skin texture is affected by heat and humidity. Excessive heat, harsh sunlight can make the skin dry, white patches can emerge, peeling of skin may take place, tanning and darkening of skin complexion is also possible.
Due to humidity, there may be excessive sweating in the body, it may become every sticky thereby accumulating dust and grime easily (especially in the exposed parts), and there may be oiliness of skin (mainly facial skin) too. Pimples may erupt due to this and the skin may lose its soft, smooth texture due to these influences.
Always carry a protective cover so that the direct exposure to sunrays can be prevented. Use an umbrella as it helps in shading the skin from the sun. Always use sunscreen and UV protection cream while stepping out so that sun burn and tanning of exposed skin can be avoided or lessened.
Apply moisturizers if you notice that the skin is getting dry and scratchy. Sometimes rough dry patches may be observed in a particular part of the skin. Applying moisturizers will be helpful in alleviating the problem. Do not try to peel off rough surfaces and dry skin. Also reapply moisturizers after certain time as it gets absorbed into the skin in one-two hours.
Wash yourself using normal tap water/cold water. Avoid using hot water as it takes away the moisture from the skin. Apply face wash only once or twice a day. Frequent using of face wash or soap will make the skin dry and drain away nutrients from the skin. Just dab the skin lightly after wash rather than rubbing it with a napkin/towel.
Drink plenty of water as it helps in keeping the skin moisturized; and consume more of fruits/vegetables containing vitamins A and E.
Avoid wearing makeup on face as it may get smudged or caked due to sweating and humidity.
