Reasons For Drastic Weight Loss
Some of us might have noticed drastic weight loss in our own bodies or among people whom we know and have been seeing well. Most of us may take pride in the weight lost; however, sudden weight loss is not healthy and it is a pointer to a health condition that you might be suffering.
Drastic weight loss could be an indicator of a debilitating disease. Many fatal and life threatening or serious diseases have drastic weight loss as a common symptom and this should not be ignored.
Sudden weight loss may be an indicator of poor appetite. It may be that a person has lost interest in eating food, does not feel hungry, is hungry but does not feel like eating food etc. This could be a result of stress in daily life, pressure and strain of professional commitments, problems in personal life, high level of tension, anxiety, and nervousness.
Due to the agitated and restless state of mind a person may feel like skipping food. Persistently being under stress and tension will surely impact the health and well being, and weight loss can be an outcome.
Depression can also be linked to sudden weight loss. A person who is severely depressed at a point of time, feels hopeless, helpless, disinterested in life and feels suicidal will not bother about the nutritional requirement of his/her body. They may eat very meager food, eat food that has no nutrition, lack the appetite to eat and therefore weight loss will be the outcome of such tendencies.
Drastic weight loss is also the result of bad eating habits and concept of fitness. Many of us associate a slim figure with fitness and get obsessed about losing any extra bulge we may have. This notion has lead to crash dieting, starvation diet, purging whatever has been eaten, no food and heavy exercises and so on, obviously leading to drastic unhealthy weight reduction.
