Quick Relaxation Tips
The levels of stress one goes through can lead to high level of tension, anxiety, panic, frustration and a general sense of tiredness, exhaustion and fatigue. Neutralizing this stress is very important so that it does not build up further and have negative impact on the mind and body.
Stress can be beaten by following some simple relaxing tricks. A very effective stress buster is deep breathing exercise. Sit comfortably in a quiet and breezy place. Close your eyes and focus on your breathing. The intensity of breathing will gradually reduce and you will reach a stage where the breathing slows down and you feel completely relaxed.
Another thing you can do is try to keep your mind blank. Just focus on the here and now. You can concentrate say on the soft sound of the wind, or the slow rhythm of your breathing, or breeze, and divert your attention from stressing random thoughts.
Another powerful method is visual imagery. You can imagine that you are on a beach, a waterfront, watching a waterfall or in the midst of greenery. You can imagine yourself to be in any place that you feel will be the most relaxing of all. Close your eyes and visualize the place as if you were watching it from a distance. This relaxes the mind and body.
Another stress buster could be to sleep. When you are stressed out, you may sleep naturally or some of us may have to induce sleep. If you have time, you may sleep for an hour or so. This itself will be good enough to beat stress. Otherwise you may have to take a power nap of 15-20 minutes.
Lie down comfortably and just concentrate on your breathing. Concentrating on a set rhythm or pattern will put your thoughts to rest and induce a relaxed state of mind.
Repeating certain spiritual chants or mantras are also effective in causing relaxation. You may also play music or spend some time with your pet for quick relaxation.
