Managing Rough Unruly Hair
Rough hair may look disheveled and unorganized. It doesn’t have the luster and shine that normal hair has, making it look dull, chapped and unattractive.
Tangles may develop easily in rough hair leading to breakage while combing. Thinning of hair can also be observed if hair is rough and dry.
A person may naturally feel poorly about the rough hair and may find it taxing to organize it. This may lead to harsh practices with hair like combing harshly, breaking tangles in hair, using various heat based treatments for smoothing hair and so on. This attitude of dislike towards hair needs to be changed as it damages the hair further.
Rough hair needs special treatment and care for maintaining. Do not wash rough hair frequently. Hair wash can be done just twice a week. Use a shampoo that is meant especially for dry dull hair. Avoid using chemical based shampoos as they may damage the hair further in the long run.
Fortifying the hair using natural ingredients is better. Use a hair wash powder or shampoo containing henna, hibiscus, olives and gooseberry. You can also apply a hair pack of henna adding hibiscus petals, egg white and yolk, and boiled mashed gooseberries to it. Leave it on for an hour or so, and rinse hair with water adequately. Do not apply shampoo while washing.
Also use lukewarm or normal tap water for washing hair. Avoid using hot water as it decreases the moisture content in the hair.
Always use a conditioner or hair softener gel of a good brand for softening and smoothening the hair. This will also help in easily entangling the hair and will reduce hair breakage. It adds a shine to hair too. Consider going for a deep moisturizing treatment atleast twice a month.
Do not rub the hair harshly with towel or use blowers to dry the hair. Dab the hair gently with towel and leave it to dry in natural air. Comb patiently and braid the hair when dry so that it doesn’t get tangled and unruly.
