Keeping Hair Tangle Free

Tangled hair can get very unruly and unmanageable. Tangled hair also looks unpleasant and makes us conscious of its unkempt look. Hair tangles can lead to breakage of hair if not handled carefully and patiently. It can lead to thinning of hair due to considerable hair loss.
To keep hair tangle free, have a suitable length for your hair. If you have short, well trimmed hair, chances are few for developing tangles. Even if tangles are formed, they can be easily removed by running the fingers along them or brushing with a comb.
For long hair, more patience is required for removing tangles. You can avoid tangles by taking some steps like deciding on your hairdo. If you are traveling or if the conditions are very windy and breezy, tie up your hair in a pony tail or braid them. You can open them up once you reach the place you want to be at.
You may also consider using a scarf while traveling so that the wind does not rustle the hair and form tangles.
Brush your hair whenever you find tangles developing. Postponing it will lead to further entangling of hair. Brush hair smoothly when you encounter tangles. Remove the tangles using your fingers if they do not get disentangled by comb. Use a wide toothed comb rather than a comb with small narrow tooth.
For avoiding tangles, apply a hair softener or after wash gel. This helps in disentangling the hair easier. You may also apply an anti frizz lotion or gel to keep tangling at bay. Also brush the hair when it is slightly damp so that the comb moves smoothly and tangles are disentangled without too much of tugging and pulling.
Avoid leaving the hair open while sleeping. Hair does get tangled with the changes in your head posture while sleeping. Do not leave the hair dry before sleeping; apply oil slightly.
