Improving Metabolism
A good rate of metabolism is essential so that toxins and wastes are eliminated from the body. Good metabolism also makes you feel healthy, fit and active. The kind of food you consume, the level of physical activity you have and the manner of lifestyle you follow are predominant factors that determine the rate of metabolism you have.
Eating the right kind of food is essential for maintaining or boosting metabolism. Food should contain equal amounts of solids and also liquids. Infact water plays a very important role in metabolism. It helps in breaking down complex compounds and aids the process of digestion and subsequently metabolism.
The food you eat must be digestion friendly. For example, when food comprises dietary fibre, it is relatively easier to digest. Therefore one must consume more of raw vegetables. Eating raw onions, tomatoes, cucumber, carrots, boiled beetroot, and green leafy vegetables will be beneficial.
Fruits also help in boosting metabolism. Some fruits you can consume are bananas, pineapple, oranges, papaya and watermelon. Fruits like apple, grapes, guava, pomegranate need to be taken with caution as some people may develop constipation by consumption of these fruits. Fruits are not only rich in dietary fibre but contain good proportions of water too that naturally aid the process of digestion.
Second is the level of physical activity that one needs to follow on a regular routine basis. Atleast one hour of exercise is necessary everyday. It could be walking, jogging, cycling, swimming or playing active sports. Infact exercising in the morning is a better way to aid the process of digestion, increasing metabolism and burning calories too.
Lastly the kind of lifestyle you follow will also affect your metabolism. If you tend to follow a stressful lifestyle, are full of hyperactivity and tension, do not sleep even for the basic minimum hours, it can interfere with the process of digestion and metabolism.
