How To Get Rid Of Prickly Heat
Once the summer is in, one of the common skin disorders we experience is the prickly heat. This particular problem is caused, when we are exposed to excessive sun and heat and our sweat glands get blocked. Prickly heat can cause intense discomfort, as they give an itchy feeling, which is difficult to endure.
Before going to discuss about the way to prevent them, it is necessary to know the cause of prickly heat. As I have already mentioned that it is caused due to over exposure in the sun, so you have to take all the precautions to protect yourself from the sun.
The very first thing I will suggest you to wear loose clothes of cotton and natural fiber. Avoid wearing clothes, which will expose a large portion of your body parts to harsh sun rays. Apart from that, apply a sun screen lotion with a minimum SPF15 generously on the skin. Apply sun block lotion at least 15 minutes before you go out in sun.
Carry an umbrella with you whenever you are going out in the day time. Or else, you can wear a hat and sun glasses to keep the harmful rays at bay.
Another important tip is that don’t let your sweat dry on your skin. If the sweat gets dried over the skin then it might block the skin pores, which eventually leads to prickly heat. Keep a clean towel or a handkerchief handy to wipe of your sweat.
If you have already got the prickly heat on your skin then the foremost thing you should do is to reduce the heat of the body by adopting any means. Application of a cold compress can help you here. You should avoid using greasy moisturizer, which can even aggravate the condition.
In case of prickly heat, Aloe Vera gel is usually suggested. This gel is effective and gives immediate relief, as it has anti-inflammatory properties.
