How to Ask Someone Out on a Date
Earlier it was the men who would ask woman out on a date, but now the other way around is common as well. So how does one ask someone out on a date? This is a question that often plagues our minds. If you are thinking of asking someone out on a date, you could do well to remember these tips:
1. Even before you ask some one out, you should be prepared for a “no”. If you do get a negative response, never take it personally.
2. Never fumble with words when you are asking the person out. They might take it as if you are tongue-tied and nervous. Be and act confident.
3. Before you ask someone out, make sure you have the place and time for the date ready. If they say yes, you should be fully prepared and that will come across as a sign of thoughtfulness.
4. A lot of people have the habit of asking why you would want to take them out and not someone else. Be prepared to tell them how special they are for you, and how anxious you are to know them better. People can be wary, and they may want to know some reasons behind your request.
5. Don’t ever pressurize the person in any way. Let them think about it and get back to you. If you insist a bit too much, you might come across as a desperate case, which you most certainly don’t want.
6. Always smile when you ask someone out. Keep things happy and fun so that they look at you in a positive way and their answer shows that.
7. One date and time or location does not work. Have alternatives handy in case they want to go somewhere else. If you are able to give the person some choice, it shows you know your business and have been thoughtful enough to take the pains working out on a choice.
8. Never appear desperate in case the person says no. Take it gracefully and in your stride and walk away with confidence. They may think about things and get back to you with a “yes” later.
9. Always but always make sure you don’t ask someone out when they are in a group of friends. Try to catch them alone so that whatever their answer is there is no scope for embarrassment.
