Hand Care Tips

Hands are one of the most exposed parts of the body. It comes in touch with dirt and dust, grime that gets settled on door knobs or hand support devices, micro organisms that are not visible to the naked eye etc. Shaking hands with many people during the day also makes it a soft target for accumulation of dirt and organisms.
Due to the exposure to sunrays, hands get tanned easily, they may turn dry, may itch, may develop white rough patches in certain areas, and may lose the smooth, soft feel and texture that they might have had.
Hands are also prone to allergic reactions caused by coming in touch with unclean water, due to longer contact with water, due to chemicals and acids present in detergents and so on.
Whenever you are cleaning the house or your desk or table, keep the hands covered. Wear hand gloves or wrap them with a good cover so that whatever dirt and dust is being cleaned do not get settled into the pores of your skin. Be alert about the impact your detergent or washing powder has on your hands. If it develops rashes or shrinks, it may be an indication of allergy and must be shown to a skin specialist.
Be careful while handling acids or chemicals used while wiping the floor. Use a mopping cloth or device so that your hands are protected. Wash your hands thoroughly after contact with dust or surfaces that might be unclean. Use a hand wash liquid rather than using normal soap as soap tends to dry out the skin and cause peeling. A mild hand wash solution with moisturizing property or with anti bacteria property will be ideal.
Apply moisturizers during summer or dry weather so that the skin remains soft and supple. Use sunscreen lotion while going out so that darkening and tanning can be controlled.
