Get Rid of Ugly Blackheads
Ever noticed those ugly black spots that generally appear on the tip of your nose? These are called blackheads, and these are caused when the skin’s natural oils collect and harden in the pores. The exposed tip becomes oxidized and black – hence the name ‘blackheads’. The most blackhead-prone skin types are oily and combination skins. But people with dry skin might also suffer from this at times.
It is a pain to remove blackheads and a lot of people believe that the only way to get rid of them is to go to a beauty therapist. But it is not so. You can remove these blackheads at home and in a not-so-elaborate procedure. Some effective tips to get rid of blackheads are:
1. You need to use exfoliating face wash on the blackhead prone area 3-4 times a week. This gently cleans the pores of the skins oils and clears the area.
2. Greasy hair can cause and help spread skin infections. So, it is best to keep your hair away from your face to prevent this.
3. Sun exposure or ultra-violet light encourages skin peeling and this helps to clear blocked pores. So it is useful if you could expose your skin to moderate sun rays.
4. You should not use soaps to cleanse your face. Rather wash your face with cool plain water and a gentle face wash twice a day. This helps get rid of the dirt that gets accumulated on your skin.
5. After cleaning your skin, apply an astringent or rose water on your skin. It helps reduce oiliness.
6. And lastly, apply a medicated cream or gel containing resorcinol, salicylic acid or benzyl peroxide. This helps is soaking the oil and helps in peeling away the blackheads.
Does squeezing the blackheads lead to more blackheads? This is a question that often rises in our mind. If blackheads look ready to pop out, you could try removing them gently by using a blackhead extractor. Using them once per week will leave your pores cleaner and smaller. Otherwise you can also use your fingers. Steam your face first to soften both the skin and the material blocking the pores. Then wrap the fingers in tissues and gently roll against either side of the blackhead.
So now, go ahead and have a blackhead-free skin!
