Fitness Tips for Women
Women take their role as mother, wife, daughter-in-law etc seriously; but in this process they lose out on their own health and well being. In many cases, women’s health needs are ignored, and consequently they suffer from conditions like anemia, low stamina, frequent headaches, backache, stress, depression, drastic reduction in weight and so on.
Women themselves or members in the household must ensure that they get enough of rest and relaxation, their nutritional requirements are met and their emotional and spiritual life is enhanced.
Fitness measures are essential for women to prevent conditions like stiff body, obesity, poor stamina levels and capacity, to keep their body in fit condition, avoid knee pain and also conditions like diabetes or heart ailments. She must devote a minimum of half an hour daily for exercises.
This could be taking a brisk walk, doing stretching exercises, cycling on a home based installed cycling device, practicing yoga exercises and so on. An early morning exercise will be good as she might be occupied for the rest of the day and may not really get free time.
Nutritional requirements of women are specific. They need additional supplements of iron due to the kind of work pressures they undertake, they need additional supplements of calcium as the bones begin to weaken and become fragile with the passage of time, they need food fortified with proteins, folic acid, and other basic vitamins and minerals so that they can retain their stamina, energy, their health and vitality despite the stressful life they lead.
Intake of green leafy vegetables, raw vegetables like cucumber, tomato, carrots must be ensured. There should be adequate consumption of milk and milk products for calcium, consumption of iron rich food like raisins, beetroot, bananas, dry fruits to keep conditions like anemia at bay.
They should also consume food rich in proteins like soybeans, oatmeal, corn, whole grains, cereals and pulses for maintenance of tissues. Fruits like oranges, apples, pineapple must be a part of their diet as it is an instant source of energy and refreshment.
Taking care of the mental needs of women is essential so that her frustrations and stress are relieved. Women must take time off for hobbies or relaxation activities like meditation, deep breathing exercises, painting, knitting, gardening, playing with pets, watching dramas, attending music concerts and so on.
