Feet Care Tips
Feet are the most exposed part of the body to dirt and dust, yet mostly a neglected region for care. Most of our efforts are concentrated in skin care, in appearing free of blemishes, in appearing fair, having a smooth glowing skin and so on. Even hand care is in vogue as it is more exposed to people. Feet are however neglected, thereby causing eruptions in the soles, cracked soles, darkening of feet skin, dirty ill maintained nails and so on.
However feet care is equally important due to reasons of hygiene and also to avoid discomfort caused by hurting cracked soles, infections due to exposure to germs and dirt, skin allergies due to exposure to unclean water or floor and so on. A well kept and neatly maintained feet also makes it feel cherished and soft.
Do not venture out without shoes or slippers. There may be sharp objects that are not visible to the eye and may cause injury and hurt. Do not step in hot pavements without slippers on as it may cause the soles of the skin to burn, harden and peel.
While you are being exposed to sunrays, make it a point to take some protective measures. Just as we use anti tan or sunscreen lotion to protect our facial skin, it is advisable to apply these to the feet too, or else the feet get darkened, sun burnt, or may get the distinct outline of the design on your slippers making it look odd or ugly.
You may also use socks for protection. Apply moisturizers or your body lotion to the feet too as it will help in preventing dryness, scratching, peeling skin and darkening.
Clean the feet weekly once. Dip it in hot/lukewarm water for atleast 20 minutes. Massage the feet and soles slightly for relaxing it. Use a worn out tooth brush and slightly brush the skin on the feet, especially, the soles (and cracks), skin surrounding nails and between fingers. This will remove the dead skin, give it a smooth and soft feel and make them beautiful.
