Factors Causing Hair Loss
Hair loss can be accelerated due to improper hair care measures, due to changes in the weather or atmospheric conditions, due to changes in the kind of products used in hair care and also due to deficiency of certain foods that contribute in the growth, maintenance and strengthening of hair.
Changes in climatic conditions can lead to hair fall. For example, a person may observe hair loss when the climate in very hot and dry. This is because the hair loses its moisture in such conditions, and becomes brittle and rough on coming in contact with heat and harsh climatic conditions. Due to absence of proper care as per changes in the climatic conditions, hair fall may occur.
Sometimes changes in water also affect hair. For example, a person may observe rapid hair loss on contact with water that is very saline or after a bath in the swimming pool. Change of water due to change of location/place of stay can also impact the hair, causing hair loss.
Improper measures to protect hair can be another factor. For example, washing hair with hot water is not advisable. This is because hot water takes away the moisture from the hair, makes it dry and brittle and may result in hair loss. Therefore bathing with lukewarm or normal tap water is better.
Using poor quality hair care products, or using products that are not really suitable to your hair type could be a factor. Changing the hair wash gel from time to time, experimenting with the new hair care arrivals in the market, not maintaining consistency in the kind of products you use may be some reasons.
Using chemically formulated products as against herbal, natural, organic products may trigger hair fall. Handling hair roughly, removing the tangles harshly could be a reason. Hair loss is also triggered by changes in the body and hormones. For example, some women experience rapid hair loss and thinning of hair during and after pregnancy.
