Essentials in Love

Love is a feeling that can turn around your world, make you feel happy for no reason, cause thrill and excitement, stimulate your mind and heart and create an overall feeling of happiness and enthusiasm about living. However, there can be a lot of dissatisfaction, grievances, conflicts, disputes in the relationship that you value and care for so much.
When you are in love, forget yourself. The partner should clearly take precedence in your thinking, your decision making, your actions, words etc. If you are an ‘I’, ‘me’, ‘myself’ person and put yourself before the partner, it is sure to create conflict and disgruntlement in the relationship. Live for the partner, not for yourself.
Empathy is the most important quality you need to have. Do not take the partner for granted. You have to become a thinking person. Think twice about the words, actions, suggestions you make, the kind of responses the partner may give, how will it affect him/her, is it suitable/convenient to you or the partner.
Be friends first. If you think from the point of view of a lover, you tend to get egoistic, tend to think more about yourself, get very touchy about small issues, do not forget or forgive the small lapses and feel unnecessary strain and pressure. Act like a friend most times. This will help you to be patient, have endurance and tolerance, be non judgmental, and take things easily.
Respect the partner. Do not take her for granted. Do not abuse her, do not force her into something that she feels uncomfortable with, and never threaten her. Do not use her trust and vulnerability to gain things for yourself. Do not exploit her blind trust and acceptance of you.
Never make the partner wait, rather wait yourself. Do not discount the time and importance of the partner by making her wait for hours. Value her time. If still you arrive late, feel truly apologetic for the lapse and make up for it. Say sorry and mean it.
