Dressing Tips for Summer
Summertime can be irritating and may cause a lot of restlessness or discomfort due to humidity in the atmosphere, heat and constant sweating. Clothing plays an important role in summer not only for keeping you calm and cool, but also for protecting you from direct sun rays.
Clothing for summer must be carefully chosen so that it does not create discomfort or restlessness. Avoid wearing tight clothing during summer. Skin tight jeans, fitting clothes, figure hugging clothes may make you feel more hot and sweaty. Rather go for a bit loose clothes.
Loose clothes allow the circulation of air through the body. It also allows the release of heat from the body rather than trapping it within layers of clothing and making you feel hot.
Wear clothes specially made in cotton so that perspiration will be absorbed. Cotton also does not make you feel hot. If you use synthetic material clothing, it may not absorb the sweat and you will feel sticky all over.
Synthetic clothes also develop patches of sweat and start emitting foul odor sooner. Synthetic materials get heated up on exposure to sun, trapping the heat and making you feel hotter.
Similarly avoid wearing denims as they too get heated and do not absorb sweat. Cotton trousers and shirts may be ideal options.
As much as you may feel like wearing shorts or half sleeved clothes, refrain from it as this will expose the skin to direct sun rays. This will cause sunburn or tanning.
Wearing clothes that are a bit loose fitting will avoid developing rashes due to friction of the skin, sweat and clothes. Wear clothes that are comfortable in the abdomen region so that it does not cause discomfort.
Wear small light jewellery to go with your clothing. Avoid using metallic or oxidized stuff as it may react to the sweat or moisture content and cause allergies or rashes in places of contact.
You may keep a scarf handy for travelling in the sun. Using sunglasses will not only keep your eyes cool but will also add to a smart look.
Use footwear that is open so that air circulation takes place and you do not develop smelly feet.
