Closing a Date

A date holds a special place for the couple involved in it. The process of the date, the initiation, the continuation are important, however, more important may be the way you end it, so that you can determine the track the relationship has to take in future. It has to end in a very causal and friendly way.
There should not be a demand for spelling out clearly the experience of the date and the future course of action. Yet there should be no ambiguity or confusion or loose ends about how the couple feels about each other and their thoughts about the relationship as such. There must be some kind of a parting note that can make their intentions a bit clear.
Do not ask outright about how the date was. Be proactive about your feelings. This will help in encouraging the partner to disclose her feelings about the date. If you sense that your partner is very shy and sensitive, do not insist on her giving a feedback about the date. You need to be a bit proactive with such a partner to draw them out with their feelings.
Highlight the positives of the date and your good experiences about it. Try to indicate how the presence or the company of the partner has made the date and the time spent with her precious and memorable. Thank the partner for company and for positively reciprocating your offer for a date. These kinds of formalities will help in creating a good impression and pave the way for future conversation and communication.
Ask the partner if she felt the arrangements of the date, the manner in which it proceeded was comfortable and pleasant for her. Explain that her comfort and opinion matters a lot to you.
Generally mention a causal note saying that you look forward to further meeting and good time with the partner, if the partner is comfortable and willing. This will keep the scope open for taking the relationship in a new direction.
