Body language is important while dating
Sit up straight, look confident, don’t wave your hands around too much, make eye contact – haven’t we heard all these advices things a dozen times already? These are important not only for interviews, but for dates too. In interviews, you are judged not only by your knowledge about the job you will be doing, but also by your attitude as reflected by your body language. Similarly, dates also evaluate you not just by how interesting you are but also by the way you carry yourself.
And believe me no one wants to be associated with someone who slouches or gestures too much with one’s hands or keeps shaking one’s feet as a nervous gesture. Not only this, if you make no eye contact or make too much eye contact, it might just give out wrong vibes to our date.
To avoid turning off your dates, do not make mistakes like turning your body away from your date, crossing your arms in a defensive posture, making very little eye contact, or too little physical contact. All these things make your date feel left out, and force them to think that you are not at all interested in them. But there is a flip side as well. Too much physical contact can give out a vibe that you are interested on something more than what they have to say. Also, too much eye contact can lead them to believe that your mind is not in what they have to say but on something else.
However, good body language can make your date feel very special. If you do things like a slight touch on the arm, or a smile when they are saying something nice and sweet, good eye contact, no sign of hurry and so on, your date will automatically find out that you are interested in them and all your attention is on them and nothing else.
Follow these simple tips on body language while on dates and see for yourself how it makes your and your date’s day.
