Are You Stopping Yourself from Falling in Love?

Being in love can be a double edged sword. You may find the best of joy, happiness, peace, satisfaction, contentment being in love, and at the same time it may bring on tremendous emotional ups and downs, stress, anxieties, tension, confusion, fear etc.
Some of us may prefer to avoid falling in love because of our own fears, like, will we be loved backed the same way, will our love and vulnerability be exploited, will the relationship sustain, will we be able to keep control on our overwhelming feelings and desires, control our possessiveness about the partner. Many of the fears could be learned by personal experience or may exist just at an imaginary level.
Not letting yourself get a chance to experience the varied emotions, the enthusiasm, the inspiration, the strength, the confidence that love brings about will be very depriving. Do not get deterred by your irrational, thought up, imagined, paranoid fears.
May be your past experience of the relationship or the experience of people closely related to you has put you off. But when you feel that you are meeting a person who is different, has the potential of making you happy, makes you comfortable and discard your inhibitions and fears, do not stop yourself from testing waters. You wouldn’t find a good match unless you put yourself through some risks or open your heart and mind to possibilities.
Despite the vulnerabilities you have, you have to allow your heart to go through fresh feelings. Maybe falling in love will heal the wounds of the past. Do not give up all possibilities of falling in love to protect your heart. Rather strengthen it with more experiences, faith, confidence and courage.
Do not live in fear. Things may not be as bad as you may think it to be. Don’t be serious and overly cautious. Be flexible; listen to your heart and instincts.
